- Our Objectives:
- 1. To provide comfort to the families of soldiers deployed overseas.
- 2. To provide students, teachers and parents the tools and resources they need to support the troops.
- 3. To teach children that they have an important role to play in response to current events.
- Our Target:
- Schools in all 50 states will participate.

The 4 Volunteer America Freedom Projects:
- Freedom Readers:
- Reading is an important ingredient of a strong nation. We encourage youth to plan and conduct book drives, and to make yellow ribbon book marks to let people know the project is in honor of the troops.

- Freedom Saves:
- We encourage youth to hold community car washes, bake sales, and other events to benefit local police, fire and emergency workers. Our local heroes keep our communities safe and secure just like our troops are keeping our nation safe and secure. Wear yellow ribbons and give one to each customer.

- Freedom Harvest:
- We encourage schools to hold food drives for the hungry. With the down economy, many people don’t have enough to eat. Put a yellow ribbon around collection box to remind students of the troops.

- Freedom Lives:
- Plant a red, white and blue garden. We encourage youth to get permission to plant flowers at local libraries, families of those overseas, VFW Centers, or schools. We also encourage classrooms to involve veterans in this project.
